Abert Moore Influence On Waterhouse?
MESSAGE:
I was in a local art gallery today (
not The Lady Lever this time), and I saw a postcard of a painting by one Albert Joseph Moore called
Seabirds. It struck how alike it was to
Boreas.
Seabirds was painted in 1871 so it puts it well before Nino's painting. There's a painting I found on the net as well called
Silver which reminded me of Flora in
Flora and the Zephyrs. Just thought the similarities were worth mentioning :)
Anyway, here's the pic:

RESPONSES:
I find this
biography of Moore very entertaining, as eccentric as the man was. They certainly crossed paths since they both showed at the same exhibits in London, and were close to the same age. It is very striking.
